A recent client liaison event for long term clients Pennington’s solicitors in Basingstoke, This years party was based at De vere venues Warbrook House in Eversley, We created a 1920s and 30s murder mystery party, guests where welcomed by a Jazz Band, greeted by the butler and mingled with the lord and lady of the manor. All went well until to great screams a house guest was murdered.
We set the scene using various props, planting and flowers, large candelabras, old gramophones to create a country house feel we event dressed up the hotel staff with aprons and 1920s head bands hired a vintage car and equally vintage chauffeur the staff from Pennington’s entered into the sprit by dressing as flappers to greet their guests.
On the rear lawns Pimms was served in the beautiful Indian raj style marquee we arranged which complemented the whole 19203/30s feel to the evening “We even made the sun shine!”

We were asked back again for the Best Bar None awards at the Southampton football club stadium;
For this event, Wessex Events built an entrance feature in the drinks reception area and provided the chill out space furniture we set about lighting the room with our water wave ripple projectors, UV reactive fabric drapes and giant silk flames.
Upstairs, we dressed all 40 tables with a simple vase and candle arrangement on a mirrored base and created another flame flanked entrance feature. Before up lighting the low roof space with the more water ripple projectors lighting and star cloths as well as wrapping the pillars in fabric and twinkle lighting.
We commissioned assistance from local lighting designers to finish the look, whilst another local production company produced and videoed a professional awards ceremony directly for the clients.
The event was a huge success with over 400 guests and special guest of local foot ball legend Matt le Tisser

We recently decorated the East Horton Golf club for the Charity golf day in aid of Marwell Zoo Gibbons Appeal; I dressed the room with African batiks fabrics, wooden African animals, ethic masks, fake animal prints on tables and a superb zebra stripe table runner for the top table. It created a very stylish look on top of the black and gold table linen.

Silk lined ceiling, for the reception at the Best Bar None awards at the De Vere Hotel. This stunning effect was achieved using our new “pipe and drape” system We also used our new giant flames creating a safe silk “flame” effect at 6ft high.
Pipe and drapes allow me to erect a free standing framework in a room without fixing anything permanent to the venue whatsoever, The Red silks are hung from the ceiling using magnetic clips, Perfect for covering walls and transforming rooms.
It’s very versatile and can be used to create all sorts of odd shapes and effects. The main room was lit with the assistance of the Hotel and myself using simple red spots on tables and changing the bulb colours on the walls. It all complemented my red silks in the foyer very well.
Comment from client:
Thanks so much for last night - the feedback we have had has been excellent. People were blown away with the way the room looked so thanks again I am really grateful especially as you had to interrupt your holiday!

Following the success of our previous Ice Cave party, we created this for long term client Bacardi. We were invited this year to create a retro 70s inspired event at the De Vere Grand Harbour, Southampton, for the official Bacardi Martini party
We installed UV reactive back drops giant stars, themed both the main function room and bar areas with giant funky, back drops, mirror balls and 70s style oil projectors as well as “old school” disco lighting and smoke effects to give that authentic feel.
We even supplied this amazing funky disco floor, to complement the live 70s disco dancing cabaret show.
Our chocolate fountain, casino tables were added to entertain the 200+ staff and guests from the company
A great event, many thanks again to my hard working event crews who this time had to rig and dismantle the whole event in just one day working in to the wee hours of 4 am to make way for a wedding exhibition at the hotel the following day that was starting at 6.00am.

Quite some brief from the client for one of our recent Christmas parties. For one night only, transform an empty baggage warehouse in the docks into a stunning Christmas party venue for 150 guests from all across the UK, for Autotrade group.
We had just three days to build and one day to take it all down again, as the warehouse had to be returned to the port authority for the arrival of a prestige cruise liner.
Having erected a marquee inside the warehouse, we brought in all of the services we needed, as there were no kitchens, no water inside, no toilets and only basic heating and lighting.
The team worked hard and got all of the equipment, entertainers and crews in, and built it on schedule. We themed, decorated and lit the whole project and fed 150 people a stunning hot carvery. The guests left at 1.30 am and we started equipment removal and clearing up until the very early hours, ready for the marquee crew at 6.00am to clear down.
The venue was returned to the port ahead of time and we left nothing but the smell of the "grease paint and the roar of the crowd". Moreover, 150 very happy clients, and 30 + exhausted crew/staff

We recently created a stunning event for long term clients of ours that manufacture contact lenses, At the Meon Valley Hotel.
The venue have a new marquee structure that is normally just a blank canvas so we transformed the venue with clever use of intelligent lighting effects, matched table linen and chair covers and created contemporary table centres.
We replaced the venues bar with a stunning centerpiece semi circular illuminated bar and created lighting effects on the roofs provided extra plants and foliage with twinkling stars to finish the look.
The Guests were entertained by close table entertainers, caricaturists and a top local band
Wessex Events provided all the entertainment, design and commissioning of the lighting for the night. Both the clients and the hotel staff were blown away by the look of the venue.
Clients comment:
“Many thanks - the pictures really do show off all your hard work and make the marquee look fantastic. I have had so many people saying how much they enjoyed the evening plus the entertainment”.
